Hi everyone. We're here for a quick how-to video on how to use and create opportunity records in WhiteCup CRM.
Opportunity records are used to track a chance to sell something new to an existing account.
Once those accounts are in CRM, you can attach contacts as usual and then create the opportunity either under the contact or under the account, depending on your business process.
Opportunity records can also be shown in widgets, like the one shown here on the dashboard.
These records operate like other records in CRM. You can select a record and make updates directly from the widget if you want to quickly track what is happening with that opportunity.
You can also use the hyperlinks to open the opportunity record. From there, you can document additional details, tasks, calls, time, and events, just like with other CRM records.
You can also open the Opportunities module to view all opportunities that you have access to see.
From there, you can update your view by adding columns or rearranging them to show the information you need.
You can use the checkboxes on the left to select multiple records and make updates to one or more opportunities at the same time.
You can also use the operations across the bottom if you want to view numeric values about the information currently displayed on the screen.
Creating new opportunities is best done from a record, either the account or the contact, depending on where your team logs those opportunities.
You can use the Relationships widget to create linked records. If that widget is not already on your dashboard, you can use the option in the top right to add it.
From the Relationships widget, select which type of linked object you want to create.
Then, using the plus sign, enter the required fields and any additional information you have, including the opportunity value.
The opportunity value will feed into the process screen and grid view, where totals can be calculated and displayed.
After entering the needed information, click Create to add the new opportunity record.
Because the opportunity was created from the parent record, it will automatically be related and linked to that record.
You can then open the opportunity and use it like any other CRM record to log tasks or events and document calls you have had with the customer.
As the opportunity progresses, you should update the sales stage. This dropdown can be edited like other dropdowns in CRM.
If workflows are attached to those sales stages, updating the sales stage can also update the process stages.
You can then view your process to see your sales or opportunity pipeline and funnel, giving you helpful visual overviews of your records.
Be sure to check out our video on processes, along with our information on workflows and other related features.
Opportunity forms can be edited like other forms in CRM, so please work with your administrator team to make any needed changes.
Feel free to reach out with questions. Thank you for watching.
