White Cup BI dashboards are flexible, intuitive, and actionable. This article walks through the layout system, KPI object, drill capabilities, CRM integration, and more.
Add or Remove a Row
To adjust your dashboard structure:
Click the Edit button on your dashboard.
- Hover over any section and click the row handle.
- Select Add Row to insert a new row.
Select Remove Row to delete one. Note: removing a row will delete its contents.
Add or Remove a Column, and Move Existing Content
After adding a row:
- Click the column handle.
- Choose Add Column or Remove Column as needed.
- In the below example we will add a column
Drag and drop existing dashboard objects (like reports) into any column to reposition them.
Resize Rows and Columns
You can fine-tune your layout by resizing rows and columns:
- Resize rows by dragging the horizontal divider between them.
- Resize columns by dragging the vertical divider between columns.
Add a Dashboard Object (KPI Example)
To add a new object to your dashboard:
- Click the column handle and select Add Dashboard Object.
Choose the object type (e.g., KPI).
The new KPI object is ideal for displaying metrics like sales, margin, or line fill rate. It also supports trends, comparisons, and links to other dashboards for drill-down.
Use Undo / Redo in Reports
You can now backtrack or reapply steps during report exploration:
- Use Undo to reverse your last action (e.g., drill-down or filter).
Use Redo to apply the step again.
This feature in White Cup BI builds on the “Return to Report” feature from MITS. It gives you step-by-step control instead of jumping all the way back.
Drill Across from Charts
In applicable dashboards, you can drill across directly from charts:
- Click on a chart element (bar, pie slice, line point).
- It will open a deeper dashboard filtered by that selection.
This allows for an interactive visual analysis experience.
- Mobile-Friendly Layouts
Dashboards automatically adjust for mobile and smaller screens:- Rows and columns stack vertically for better readability.
- Charts and KPIs resize to fit narrower widths.
- No need to create separate mobile versions.
- This ensures a consistent experience across desktop, tablet, and phone views.
Launch CRM from Your Dashboard
A Launch CRM button appears on dashboards:
- Located in the top right of the dashboard.
- Takes you directly into White Cup CRM to follow up on customers, check opportunities, or review account history.
Executive Review Dashboard Available
The Executive Review Dashboard layout features:
- Optimized KPI layout
- Row-based structure and KPI object
To get a copy (if not already in your library):
- Go to the Content Catalog
- Select Executive Review Dashboard
- Click Copy and send it to your library. Note: If you select Overwrite content, it will overwrite your copy of the dashboard.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Layout Behavior and Editing
What happens to my existing dashboards?
They remain unchanged. You can continue using them as-is or update them to the new layout when you're ready.
What happens if I modify and save an older dashboard?
Saving an older dashboard will apply the fixed-width layout. If it contains extra columns, blank space may appear in view mode. You can remove unused columns to clean up the layout in visual edit.
Will removing a row or column delete the content inside?
Yes. Deleting a row or column also removes any dashboard objects it contains. Be sure to move or copy important items first.
Do objects retain their settings when moved?
Yes. Filters, formatting, and configurations are preserved when objects are moved or copied.
Can I resize individual dashboard objects?
Width auto-scales based on the column layout.
Height (for charts) can be manually adjusted.
What if my object is larger than the row or column?
The object will auto-fit within limits. If needed, scroll bars will appear to let you view full content.
Do sections and conditional containers still work?
Yes. Existing features like sections, conditional containers, and scorecards continue to function in the new layout.
Chart Behavior, Drill-Downs, and Exporting
How does PDF export handle scroll bars?
PDFs ignore scroll bars and render content based on actual dashboard layout dimensions, not your on-screen view.
Do charts behave differently in CRM widgets?
Yes. Charts in CRM auto-resize by width but maintain fixed height for consistent visual stacking.
Dashboard Catalog and Executive Review Dashboard
How do I find the new Executive Review Dashboard?
Go to the Content Catalog, search for "Executive Review", and click Copy to add it to your content.
Do other dashboards in the catalog use the new layout?
No. Only the updated Executive Review dashboard uses the new layout as of now. Other dashboards retain their original format unless manually modified.
