The Log Activity Pane can be used to log actions on a record and to view actions on that record or related records.
This pane only displays when on a record. The tabs in the top section allow you to add comments, create tasks, log calls or time spent on accounts, and other sales-related activities, as well as create events.
The Activity log in the bottom section keeps track of every action you take on the selected record. You can customize the log to view specific items, show entries, or hide them.
Comment Tab
Use the comments tab to create a comment about the selected record that you and your team can refer to the next time you interact with a contact or review an account.
Tasks Tab
Create a new Task associated with the record. In the full action editor, you can set due dates, assign users, prioritize, visibility, and description. Edit, complete, or delete the action as needed from the full Tasks list.
Log Call Tab
Use the call tab to log a call (or attempted call) to a contact. You can select a quick note to expedite your call logging. These are preset comments (built in the Dropdown Editor) that you can add to your call log.
Log Time Tab
You can also log time spent working on a record. Whether it’s background research or case analysis, you will be able to log how much time you’ve spent working on topics related to the record, and the time spent doing it.
Calendar Event Tab
Use the Calendar Event tab to add an appointment time and date on your accessible calendars for a specific event. You can set visibility (i.e., who can see it in their calendars) and the assigned users. You can also set the event priority level and the display color.
Activity Log (Action History)
You may view activity records specific to one event type using the filter drop down (top-left) or by searching the text. You may also use the Date Range button to limit or broaden the results displayed in the list. Additional Publisher viewing options include:
- The Toggle Text option Allows you to minimize or maximize the detailed text for each record component.
- The Relationships option displays the action history chart with all actions for the records with established relationships.
Click the options above again to deselect them and return the action history chart to its default state.
You may hover your mouse over an entry in the history list to display additional information in a tooltip. This additional information may include:
- Created Date
- Due Date
- Completed Date
- Last Updated Date
- Which attribute was used to determine the position in the list.
For example, there may be a task which was created more than a week prior.
That task was then finally completed recently. In the Action History, it will seem "out of order" due to other more recently created actions, such as logged emails. The last activity date is important here.
By placing the mouse over the history record, it will display more information to explain that the action was created in the past and that is what was used for where to put it in the list.
Here is how that might look:
For a more chronological record of actions performed and when, the Activity Feed widget on the side or on the dashboard should be referenced.
