Purpose
The purpose of this technical bulletin is to provide a brief and basic overview of the Eclipse Job Management Opportunity Sync feature of the BSI Connector. This document provides an overview for how the Job Management (JM) is supposed to work in conjunction with the Opportunity sync to award Bids and Jobs to the appropriate Customer Accounts.
Note: The JM to Opportunity sync currently is only available for companies with the Eclipse business system.
The Eclipse Job Management Opportunity sync can be used to sync Bids and Jobs from Eclipse to Opportunities in Tour de Force.
Before Bids are awarded to a Customer Account, are synchronized to a designated “bids” account. Once those Jobs are awarded to a Customer Account, the JM synchronizes those Jobs to the appropriate Account record in Tour de Force. The sync process determines if the state of the Opportunity has been changed from Bid to Awarded and then re-parents the Opportunity to the correct Customer Account.
In addition to syncing the Bids and Jobs, the Document sync can also be used to sync any documents stored by the JM to create Tour de Force links from the Opportunity to the document. Any documents that are associated with Jobs are also synchronized to Tour de Force in the form a document attachment. The sync does not copy the document, but rather creates a linked attachment to the original document on the JM server.
