- Overview of the Export Log Viewer
A new feature has been added to the Administration Console in version 6.5 called the Export Log Viewer. The Export Log Viewer is a quick way for administrators of Tour de Force to view any exports that have been made to grids in Tour de Force. This section provides an overview of how the Export Log Viewer works, and what type of information is contained in the Export Log Viewer.
The Export Log Viewer displays a grid of data showing any exports ever performed by a user in Tour de Force. There are five fields in the grid section of the Export Log Viewer.
- Name – Displays the username of the user who exported the grid or data.
- Item Type – Indicates what grid the export was performed on.
- Record Count – Indicates the number of records exported by the user.
- Export Date – The date the export was performed on.
- View Name – The name of the view the user exported the data from.
Administrators also have the ability to see which columns were included in the Export by checking the Show Exported Columns checkbox. This displays a row of column names under each export log entry.
- Accessing the Export Log Viewer
Use the following procedures to access the Export Log Viewer:
- Open the Administration Console.
- In the Administration Console, expand the Special Purpose Utilities section.
- Select the Export Log Viewer option, and then click the Launch button.
- The Export Log Viewer screen displays.
- Clearing Export Logs
The Export Log Viewer is capable of keeping track of the last 10,000 exports performed in the system. However, there may be some cases where the admin needs to clear the logs. Some exports may be so old that they are no longer relevant to keep track of the exports. The reasons for why the admin would clear the logs, and how often the logs would be cleared is going to depend solely on company policies and preferences. The logs do not have to be cleared, however, once the limit has been hit the last export in the list is going to be automatically removed as new logs are added.
There are two options for clearing the export logs:
- Keeping logs for certain number of days – The first option is to keep the logs for any certain number of days. If 0 is selected that means the number of days is unlimited.
- Clear logs manually for a certain number of days - To clear old log data manually, administrators can clear old log data from the grid using the Clear Log Data button. Set the number of days in the “days old” section, and then click the Clear Log Data button.
