Import Meter Reads
Compass can interface with multiple meter discovery/tracking/DCA (Data Collection Agent) devices. Of those DCA's, below are the most commonly used, and how to export from those devices.
PrintFleet
PrintFleet has either the direct connect option (V3) or .csv import option (Enterprise). Depending on which version of PrintFleet you are using will determine which option you will choose. Also, with the version 3 option, you will need to have your URL info entered in the Administration Control Panel in Sherpa and will also need to have your email and password used to access PrintFleet from the Sherpa TCO.
- Enter your Email Address and Password, click OK
- Choose the Groups and Region you want (if applicable), and enter a date range at the bottom of the page, and click OK

- Select a group from the Group list.
- Select Export from the Method list.
- In the Devices area, choose which devices you want included in the export by doing one or more of the following:
- Click Check All, to select all devices. This can be reversed by clicking Uncheck All
- Click to select the check box beside individual devices
- Click Change Filters, and select appropriate settings to narrow down the number of devices displayed
- Type in a name for the exported file in the File Name box

- Choose a start and end date and time for the exported information in the Start and End fields

Once you have your .csv file saved to a destination on your desktop you can then go to the TCO tab in your Accounts screen. Go to Import Meter Reads and click the down arrow to choose your .csv file that you would like to import.
You would then click on the Open and browse to where your .csv file is saved that you want to import, it will then import your .csv file:
From here you can choose to “select all” or control click to choose what equipment you want to add into the TCO area. You can also choose the “Accounts Business Days” if your business is open 7 days a week, once you have made those choices, “Add Selected Models to TCO” it will then populate your Total volume, broken down by total, mono as well as color. You will notice everything has now moved to the bottom of the screen.
Once you have done the above you can click “Transfer All Meter Reads to TCO List” and your equipment will now reflect in the TCO Tab of your Account.
Printanista
-
Printanista is a rename of FMAudit Central starting with version 4.5
-
The biggest difference (other than the name) is authenticating to the API requires a key. This is in addition to the user’s username and password. A Printanista administrator will need to create and obtain the key from the Printanista interface.
-
The API only returns accounts the logged in user has access to.
-
A Sherpa administrator will need to run database maintenance to get the required schema changes to use Printanista.
Administration:
-
Setting the FM Audit Central API URL used to be a button on the main Control Panel form. This has been moved to a new tab called, FMAudit (Printanista) API, under the Third Party Tools tab.
-
Connections can be added, edited and deleted here. When adding a Printanista connection the user will need to select the appropriate API Version and provide the API key.
TCO Import:
-
A new option has been added to the TCO Meter Reads drop down menu. Printanista (FMAudit)
-
The user will be prompted to choose a connection and enter their authentication credentials. The drop down list will only populate with connections that were given the Printanista v4.5+ version.
-
After the user authenticates successfully they will be shown a form that has all the accounts that user has access to.
-
The user can search the accounts using the filter row at the top. Once they find the account they want to import devices for they need to double click on the row.
-
The user will than need to provide a date range to pull the devices and meters.
-
When the user is satisfied with the devices they click Import to bring the devices and meter reads into the standard TCO meter import form.
-
The user can now import to the current TCO as they would with all other DCA tools.
