Resource Center Overview:
The Resource Center Module is a free module (must be requested) where important and support documentation can be stored. Consider it a repository, where Admin’s and Users can easily access any documents that you choose to place there. There are security levels that an Admin can set up allowing different levels per assigned user ranks. This works in conjunction with Document Storage, so you must be utilizing that, and it must be fully set up to have access to the Resource Center.
For Admin set up: To navigate to the Resource Center go to Administration>Control Panel>Resource Center
To add a document, click on the + Add
Choose the Security Level you want, this is where you will determine who will have access to the documents. For instance, if you chose Sales Rep, then the Sales Rep and anyone above that security level would have access to the document. When a user signs in that has Sales Rep level security the only files that they see will be the ones that are allowed for them to open. No other documents will be available to be seen. Keep in mind that they will be able to edit these documents if they so choose to but those changes WILL NOT be saved to The Resource Center.
Next you will want to Select a File, it will populate the File Type and File Size as well as the name of the document you chose. You can rename the filename if you like as well as add a description. Click save.
You also have the update option to edit a loaded document however, you must save that document to another area (desktop etc.) and then bring it back in. It will not allow you to modify directly from this area. You would probably then want to delete the current one and bring the new edited version back in. Or if you want to keep both, simply change the title to Version1/Version2. Your other options are X Delete and Open Files, both are utilized simply by highlighting the file and choosing the designated button.
From the Dashboard click on the Resource Center button across the top bar. Once in the Resource Center you can then find the document that you want to access, highlight it and Open File. You also have a choice to rearrange the Grid Layout if you so choose to. You can edit a document within the Resource Center, just keep in mind that any changes that you make will not save to the document. If you need have a document edited and saved, contact your Manager or Admin as they will have to accessibility to do so.
