The import and export options allow you to import or export XML files that contain the definition of selected reports.
The configuration definitions of the saved reports in your MITS Report system can be exported to an XML file for backup purposes or for importing on another computer where MITS Report Server is running.
This is primarily a function that would be used by your MITS administrator or by MITS Support. There is no common use of these features for the normal MITS Report user.
To export the report definitions to an XML file, start on the report selection screen of the Reports tab. Select Export Report Definitions from the Tools menu in the tool bar. Select the check box(es) next to the report(s) you want to include in the export, and click Export. You can also choose to select sets of reports by organizing them according to report source or report library and checking the box next to the title of the report source or library you’d like to select. The report definition file will be downloaded to your computer in an XML format.
During the import of report definitions, the Modify option grants access to some advanced pre-import configuration options. On this screen, you can modify the report title and change the Report Source it runs against. You can also map the columns to other columns in the destination Report Source if the columns have been changed or if the Report Source is not the same as the original Report Source.
